Lubbock, Texas will be swarmed with visitors this weekend all looking for things to do. Graduations and a ton of baseball tournaments topline our events, but what do you do when they're over? I have one, very big answer for you.

This weekend is Texas Tech Graduation. On top of that is a huge high school and kids baseball tournament. Oh, and Texas Tech Softball is also playing a tournament. All this means a lot of guests in Lubbock.

Of course most folks will hit up our restaurants and consider that a bit of entertainment, but that leaves a lot of hours left to fill. So what do you do if you or your friends and family are visiting the Hub City?

The answer is as plain as the glasses on the nose on your face; visit the Buddy Holly Center. Even if you don't go inside, posing by the giant Buddy Holly Glasses is mandatory. From there, you are within eyesight of the Buddy Holly Statue.

Of course we would recommend a visit inside, but just know you can see that other good stuff at any time of day. If you'd like to see some great rock and roll artifacts, the actual center is open 10-5 Saturdays and 1-5 Sundays. If your visit is longer, they are closed on Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 10-5.

It's an expensive place to visit with General Admission at just $10 with kids 7-17 at $5. They also offer special rates for seniors, students, and Active Duty Military and Vets get in free.

As locals we tend to forget how truly special this place it is. It truly is a celebration of a rock and roll icon and hometown boy.
