Lubbock's beloved Science Spectrum has reopened, according to a last-minute social media announcement made Wednesday (July 22nd).

Science Spectrum's doors are now open, with their summer hours in place through August 16th. They are committed to following CDC guidelines and keeping us safe.

A featured exhibit the kids will love is their Megalodon: Largest Shark That Ever Lived exhibit, which is only here visiting us through September 6th. For a limited time, families can explore an exhibit that features the largest shark that ever lived, in a special 5,000-square foot traveling showcase that boasts full-scale models of the famous shark that disappeared two million years ago.

We can rest assured every possible precaution is in place for us to head out for an exciting adventure at the Science Spectrum. Some of the precautions being taken include operating at reduced 50 percent capacity. Employees are keeping track with a separate entrance and exit door. Watch for posted signs, too.

Social distancing and other safety practices will be monitored, with sanitizer stations available throughout the facility. Employees will all be wearing masks, and all visitors over the age of 10 are required to wear a face mask as well. Science Spectrum's full COVID-19 guidelines can be viewed at their website.

The Omni Theater will be seating guests together with their party and keeping rows and seats spaced apart between each group party.

Additionally, all water fountains will be closed.

Science Spectrum's full COVID-19 guidelines can be viewed at their website.

The Science Spectrum and Omni Theater is located at 2579 South Loop 289. Follow this link to their site for all the details.
