As you should all know by now Lubbock is home to hundreds of extremely talented artists.

Every month many of whom participate in the First Friday Art Trail as a way to showcase their talents.

This Friday a local artist (and personal family friend) will have the opportunity to not just have his art displayed but to be a featured artist.

Local artist Chris Marin, a graduate of Monterey, and Texas Tech will be showcased at the Satellite Gallery through Texas Tech University and Charles Adams Studio Project Friday, August 5th from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

The exhibit, titled Out of the Loop 289 is an exhibit "packaged in a way to illiterate music as a blueprint that stands on the premise of race, class, and gender."

Chris was born and raised right here in Lubbock and is definitely a home town boy destined for great things!

Come out to the Art Trail, take a look at his work, then wish him luck as he leaves Texas to begin his master's candidacy at the California Colleg of the Arts in San Francisco next month.
