Pictures of Yesterday’s Flooding in Lubbock

Well as luck would have it, I was out in the middle of last night's turtle floater. I had to head down 50th street and it was insane. As you can see in one of these pics, one car was nearly up to his headlights in water.

Too many people, including more than a few in large trucks, tried to hit the standing water too fast and ended up stalled out. My friend and I had to literally zig-zag in and out of lanes in order to continue our trip due to all the vehicles who thought they had it all figured out.

Anyhow, flood pictures seem to be the rage today, so I thought I'd post a few.  BTW, be careful -- there's more rain and storms in the forecast today!
