Ian Desmond did the necessary damage in the 8th for the Rangers Tuesday night, as Sam Dyson was able to dash any hopes of a rally in the top of the ninth as the team took the victory 4-3.

2-2 was the score heading into the bottom of the 8th, but lefty Dallas Keuchel, who was past 100 pitches, continued to pitch. Jurickson Profar was able to manufacture a one-out base hit and Ian Desmond smashed a center-bound dinger to seal it.

Luis Valbuena had an RBI single for the Astros in the top of the ninth, but two consecutive strikeouts with runners on the corners shut the door on the 'Stros.

The Rangers now have eight consecutive wins against the Astros this year.
