According to ABC News, a five-foot-tall pet kangaroo named Rowdy is still on the loose after escaping his family's enclosure.

In case you were wondering, it is legal to own a kangaroo in Texas, according to Spectrum News, because they are not considered a "dangerous" wild animal and are not endangered.

Rowdy was last seen Wednesday morning on Pyka Road near Interstate 10 in Austin County. Austin County is actually near Houston, not Austin.

The last person to spot Rowdy is a local DJ Dana Tyson, who described the encounter to KTRK News:

4:15. Totally foggy. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a kangaroo would jump in front of my car.

She was able to get video footage of the kangaroo as well.

Rowdy was able to escape after pushing open a gate and then hopping a fence. He is one of three pet kangaroos owned by Marsha Matus, who describes Rowdy as "our baby" and hopes for his safe return because she knows he is scared.

Matus also owns Daphne, who also "escaped" but only got as far as the yard. Rocky, the third kangaroo is still a baby (aww) and did not escape when Rowdy did.

To see photos of Rowdy, head here. You can also see that the kangaroos have a nice, roomy area that probably just needs more kangaroo-proofing.

Thinking of owning a kangaroo? You might think again. They need massive amounts of outdoor space (they cannot be potty trained) and males can grow to 6 feet tall and 100 pounds, making them daunting to manage.

Here's hoping Rowdy's big adventure ends soon- and that he gets back safely to his humans.
