Telemarketers Adopt Vile New Tactic

The wife and I have discovered call blocking and we block a lot of calls.

Apparently, we aren't the only ones blocking calls, because telemarketers are trying some new insidious ways to make you pick up the phone.

We got a call around 3:30 on Monday that according to caller I.D. was from "Purina Animal Hospital".  So the first thing you think is, either going to be, "oh gawd my pets been run over" or, "maybe it's time for me to get back in for shots".  Of course, when we picked up the phone they wanted to "give us valuable information on lowering our credit card rates".

This kind of crap should not stand. I blocked the call, but I'd certainly hate for some elderly person or someone who actually has lost a pet to get the shock of a call from an Animal Hospital. This needs to stop right now.
