I'm going to tease you for a bit. I'm still finding my way through the minefield that is "writing blogs". Heck, it's been around 25 years since high school English. Even worse is trying to "get the temperature" of your readers.  I've learned the second one doesn't matter AT ALL.

All you can every do is be true to yourself.  I just wouldn't feel right writing from a perspective that I don't believe in.  Oh, I can do it.  I went to state finals in persuasive speech and we were often forced to take the "other" side in debates (the one contrary to our own opinion).  I just don't like being disingenuous. So what's the "WORST" thing you can do to people?  That's easy:

Hold a mirror up to their own behavior.

Yep, that's all it takes.  You can have the most intelligent, researched, well thought out blog in the world and if truly proves a point that is contrary to someone else's point of view then you'll get called "stupid".  You'll be told "that's not the point" (even though you were the writer and you decided "the point" when you wrote the blog).  Oh, and don't forget, everyone's vocabulary is so limited these days, no matter what you do, they'll call you a "douchebag" (because they have no idea about either the real meaning, or even the slang meaning).

The sad thing is that when people are  proven wrong, they don't have the class and dignity to admit it.  They just get mad and dig in their heels.  It's no wonder we have a dysfunctional government, we have a dysfunctional populace.

My previous blog was a great example of this.  It was a satirical piece about how are current immigration problem may be because there is an invitation to America on our Statue Of Liberty.  There's no doubt that the Statue says what it says, but people would rather lie to themselves than admit it.

Myself, I admit when I'm proven wrong (and I'm often wrong). It's very surprising to people when another person admits they were wrong. Some people get embarrassed, but when I'm proven wrong, I realize I have been educated and think of it as a plus.  At the end of the day, I can look in the mirror and know that I was truthful to that (ugly, old) guy I see.

I don’t take questions from anyone who does not donate blood, or donate their time or money to the community or charity. The world is full of a lot of people with a lot of different opinions, get a helmet and get over it. Respect, walk)
