That queso you love is back, baby.

Durango's, a long-running, family-owned and operated Tex-Mex/ Mexican restaurant has returned to Lubbock after an extended hiatus.

The restaurant opened in 2002 and closed back in 2018 to the dismay of many Lubbock fans.

Now, Durango's has reopened in their first original location at 4102 34th and is already getting rave reviews from folks, including these ones:

My family and I went for the soft opening and the food was the same old fantastic fare as always!

Super delicious!! I love this place

Durango's will be closed on Mondays, but have the following hours otherwise:

7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday,

7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday,

Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The extended hours are exciting- I love getting a delicious breakfast at Mexican restaurants and of course, lunch and dinner, too.  I just really love high-quality Mexican food with a homecooked, full of love flavor.

In case you were wondering, yes this is the same family running Durango's, and the recipes are the same.

If you had a favorite item back then, chances are good you'll be able to have it again. It's like a foodie miracle.

Congratulations to Durango's, we are thrilled to see you back with a bang here in Lubbock and I cannot wait to try it, again, for the first time.

Durango's joins other recent restaurant openings like Pollo Rico (2nd location), Shaq's Big Chicken, and Abbott's Custard.

Coming soon to Lubbock: 1102 Bubble Tea & Coffee, The Brass Tap, and Ponto Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse.
