Can someone please help me out here, Lubbock has some really good things going for it, but for some reason our fair city rarely if ever makes national news for the positive things that happen here. Let's not forget Buddy Holly, the outstanding burn center at UMC, the number of people who graduate from Texas Tech and go into medicine and save thousands and thousands of lives a year,  Baron Batch making his first professional touchdown last week...stop, look and listen and you will be able to find news worthy stories. Yet, when Lubbock does make national news is it ever for something residents actually want our town known for?

Let's see, when the Chip and Dale dancers were here several years ago we made national news... wait, that made us look like a bunch of Bible thumping rednecks...

Oh I know, the story a few months ago where a baby was thrown from a car after a horrible car crash... oh, wait... that's right, her teenage parents were running from police after stealing a ladies purse...

Ok, I have it, no wait, it's not a good thing to be known for having the highest number of teen pregnancies, STD's and last but not least, Tom Head...

I'm going to stop there and just add Lubbock's latest claim to fame... the idiot who decided it would be classy to attempt to streak across the field at the Texas Tech, West Virginia game...

As the saying goes, "Lucky me, I live in Lubbock."
