Avatar may hail from Gothenburg, Sweden, but with the love the band gets from Lubbock fans we're confident to say the guys are honorary Texans.

Taking the stage on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon to help FMX celebrate 34 years of being Lubbock's rock station, Avatar tore through a set that began with the circus-inspired pomp fans have grown to love.

Frontman Johannes Eckerstrom told FMX's Wes Nessman after their wild performance that the band is actually considering new ways to wow fans at their live shows. Eckerstrom said the band is looking at ways to make their concerts "dark, sinister, nocturnal and close to Mother Nature."

We can't wait to find out exactly what that means.
