A chocolate treat sold in Texas Marshall's stores and other states has been recalled for potential mold contamination. 

The product was also sold at T.J. Maxx stores but appears to have not been distributed to Texas T.J. Maxx locations.

Montreal Fudge, produced by Authentik Fudge of Sainte-Julie, Quebec, Canada, has recalled 840 units of "Chocolate Fudge with Nuts" after a consumer complained about the mold to the company.

The company then found the beginning signs of mold inside unpacked sealed products and thus initiated the recall.

The fudge in question ended up in Marshall's in 38 states, and T.J. Maxx in 8 states. If you have bought fudge from either store, I'd strongly suggest checking the lot numbers/ expiration date before eating any more of the product.

The product is packaged in a MONTREAL FUDGE gable box, Chocolate Fudge with nuts 5.6 Oz marked with the lot 0241500805 with expiration date of 2025/MR/01, lot 0241690105 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17, and lot 0241690205 with expiration date of 2025/MR/17, on the back of the box.

The recall affects no other product from the brand and no illnesses have been reported.

If you discover that you did purchase the item, either discard it or return it to the store you bought it from for a full refund.
