Hellyeah returned to Lubbock, Texas to remind fans what metal is really all about: family.

The Dallas, Texas supergroup is no stranger to Lubbock. Hellyeah has fostered a diamond-hard relationship with fans in West Texas through constant touring and unmissable live shows. The 36th FMX Birthday Bash at Wild West Lubbock was no exception.

Frontman Chad Gray delivered attitude and power in every screamed lyric, backed by the brutal groove courtesy bassist Kyle Sanders and legendary drummer Vinnie Paul. Meanwhile, guitarist Christian Brady laid down the crunchy licks that helped get people moving.

A standout moment from Hellyeah's set, however, was when Gray delivered a powerful speech about family.

"It only takes one f---ing thing, one common denominator to bring a group of people together and allow them to become a family," Gray said, adding: "Ours tonight just happens to be heavy metal f---ing music." The already-pumped crowd screamed in agreement. You can watch the epic moment below.
