So you have the t-shirt, the hat, and possibly a collector cup, how else can you support the Red Raider Football team?

You can find the Red Raider logo on just about anything you want from dog clothes to drinking glasses and so much more but those licensing fees go to the University.  What if you could actually put just a tiny bit of jangle into the actual player's pockets? Wouldn't it be fun to know that you're actually helping a player get through college?

College football is very different and changing rapidly with the new NIL (Name, Image, Licencing) deals. A player can now profit from their celebrity and I have no problem with that. It is going to make it harder for some smaller schools to compete with the big city big bucks, but everything has a downside.

The latest product to put a little change in the Texas Tech NIL moneybag is player football cards. I just find this to be both one of the most innovative and "no duh, why didn't we think of this before" type products. What a great way to get to know the players you're supporting.

Trust me when I tell you that you'd be hard-pressed to find any athlete anywhere who doesn't just love the idea of being on trading cards. With so many athletes starting as fans, it has to be one of the absolute coolest honors and signs that the player has "made it".

The company making the trading cards is www.onitathlete.com (take that link to go directly to the Texas Tech cards). They are promising that 60% or more of the profits go directly to the NIL program. To start collecting, the packs run $12.99 with a $3.50 service charge. That's pretty cheap to start putting together a cool collection. They are taking preorders for the cards now.
