Thank you so much for reading this. YOU are not part of the problem The problem is those people who comment on headlines without bothering to see what's behind them.

It can be a little frustrating to see a comment that is so obviously out of touch with the theme or ideas behind a blog. There's just certain words that set people off so that they get their mind set and don't comprehend anything you write after that.

Here's a great example. I mentioned that that quarterback decommitting to Texas Tech was a "douche move" BECAUSE when he committed he took another kids space. Think of it like my favorite t.v. show Survivor-thousands apply and a couple dozen are excepted. When someone quits the show, they basically stole somebody elses opportunity and flushed it down the toilet. Pretty simple to understand right? Well the assh*le sports fans came out in droves.  A lot like politics, most of these people believe there are only two sides to each issue.

I got accused of labeling the kid a "douche" for life because he put his interests about that of the school he committed to.  First off, he may be a great kid, but he made a douche move. We've all done it. It's no big deal (and it's even less of a big deal what some dumb-dumb d.j. in Lubbock thinks of it).  Next up, the kid had a chance to turn Texas Tech down, BEFORE he signed a letter of commitment. It's not like he was under the gun to commit.  Anyways, enough of this example.  This kind of thing happens all the time and is one of the reasons I try not to even read comments on Facebook anymore.

I am hoping that one day a rival to Facebook will pop up that will hold people to higher standards of conversation. Having free speech in America means even the stupid and uninformed can use it.  No place proves that like Facebook.
