There may be an egg shortage on the horizon. The culprit is the avian flue. Millions and millions of chickens have been destroyed, and you know that's where eggs come from, don't ya?

My first thought was, "let's just get more chickens", but you know where chicken's come from too, right?  For the record a chicken starts laying eggs when they are about six months old, so it would be my guess that we'll start to see things ease up in eight months to a year. I know some of you are thinking, "oh well, I can live without omelets for eight months", but have you considered that it takes eggs to make cakes? We CANNOT have a cake shortage on the heels of a Bluebell shortage. That would just be more than any reasonable person should ever have to bear.

So far over 31 million of the nations 350 million egg laying chickens have been destroyed.
