The old saying "garbage in/garbage out" is amazingly true. While going through my Facebook feed I was reminded of my time in Austin. I used to listen to this conspiracy guy who would talk each day about government surveillance, black helicopters, false flag operations and other things of that ilk. The broadcasts put me on edge and made me a bit crazy. I finally had to say to my self, "enough!" and quit listening.  Guess what? That was almost 25 years ago and NONE OF IT HAPPENED.

So I look at my Facebook feed this morning and even though I've culled the crap out of my list by cutting people and restricting feeds, it's still full of people slamming cops, talking of race war, being hateful to each other and on and on. I was truly bothered by all of this. It's Xmas eve. For all the people who want to tell you "the reason for the season", no one seems to remember to be nice to each other.

I read an awesome article the other day on how the winter solstice has been celebrated since long before the bible (please bear with me a second). The reason people celebrated was that back then winter was so long and hard on them, they knew at least some of them would die before it was over. They got together to show each other love because they knew they might not get another chance. Whether you're religious or not, maybe you should remember this little bit of information. Let the season serve as a reminder to tell everyone you love them.

Now, back to the "garbage" part of the discussion. If you're constantly tracking bad news. If you're scouring every corner of the internet for conspiracies. If you're stewing in politics or religion or anything else that divides us, you're going to be a rotten mess that no one wants to be around or hear from. So with this, remember garbage in/garbage out and take a break for the next day and a half.  Just give it a break and put some good in. Click on the fun stories, drop by a friends page and tell them you miss them, just do whatever you can to put some "positive" in, so that you'll have some "positive" out. Enjoy your holidays, have a happy Christmas and be awesome to each other.
