A South Park Sing-A-Long Event Is Coming To Lubbock This June
You don't do the dishes! You don't mow the lawn! You just...I better not finish that.
But I will finish the line at the South Park Bigger, Longer, & Uncut sing-a-long event, which has two showings in Lubbock. And yes, I know all the words.
Showings include 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. In Lubbock the film is showing exclusively at Cinemark Southwest, a.k.a. Movies 16 (5721 58th St).
The sing-a-long event is in honor of the 25th anniversary of the film, which follows our favorite 3rd graders Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny as they sneak in to see an R-rated movie.
The movie they see is so naughty that their parents start World War III with Canada over it. The film also involves Saddam Hussian and Satan and plenty of other, shall we say, "colorful" characters.
It also features plenty of classic South Park songs like, "I'm Super (Thanks For Asking)" and "Kyle's Mom Is A Big, Fat, B****." The film is a musical, so there will be ample opportunities to sing along. It's going to be a lot of fun.
South Park has been on the air for an incredible 26 seasons, with its satirical take on...nearly everything. Lately, South Park has also released mini-movie "events" like The End of Obesity and the very hilarious Welcome To The Panderverse, among others.
The South Park movie was released surprisingly early for theatrical release based on a television show. South Park first aired in 1997 and Bigger, Longer & Uncut was released in 1999.
I happened to be in junior high during that time, so needless to say, I have a nostalgic and very deeply rooted love for all things South Park. It'll be lovely to be surrounded by other diehards as we celebrate and sing-a-long.
