This Lubbock Restaurant Has A Neat Robotic Server Named “Rosey”
Robotic servers are on the rise across the United States, and it looks like they've finally made their way to Lubbock. Sanctuary Bar & Cafe added a robot to their staff back in July. Have you checked it out yet? They named her "Rosey" which is pretty adorable. I love The Jetsons.
I haven't had the chance to be waited on by a robotic server yet. Over the past couple of years, I've heard mixed reviews on letting the robot race into the dining hall. I worked in the food service industry for most of my adult life before joining the radio station, and trading in people for robots is a subject we discussed pretty often. Some servers were worried about being replaced in the future.
But, I can also understand it from a business standpoint. Having an extra pair of hands for food running is helpful, and these food runners work for free.
However, they are rather pricey.
The average robotic server will typically cost you somewhere between $2000 and $34,000, maybe even more if you're going for something really state-of-the-art.
Have you seen any other Lubbock restaurants with robotic servers? I'd love to hear from you or see your pictures and videos of them! You can feel free to reach out to me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com for the chance to be featured in a follow-up article about this topic. It might be time for me to head over to Sanctuary and meet Rosey. I can always go for some cajun food.
