I hate the term "pet peeve." It's just dumb. Almost as dumb as the term "click bait." Nowadays, if someone doesn't like the title you put on a blog they call it "click bait" because they think it makes them sound smart.

Thinkstock. "What if it's just click-bait?"

Guess what, everybody? EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET IS MEANT TO CLICK ON.

So a creative title is "click bait"? Or is a misleading title "click bait"? And would you prefer a boring title, or incomplete information? Our digital guy works hard to make us dumb-dumb DJs better writers so if our titles are now "click bait," then I guess he's doing a good job. Imagine if you had to teach a bunch of monkeys grammar.

What I don't get is how some people want to act like you pissed on their shoes because of the way a story is titled. How about you behave like a grown up and just skip the stories you don't like?

I also don't get the folks who can't mentally separate the radio station from the blog pages. On the radio we play music, give away free stuff and talk about concerts. On the blog we are free to talk about whatever. We're humans and we are entitled to our opinions just like anyone else.

I recently dealt with a short order cook saying we should "stick to the music." Now how offensive would it be if I went to his work and said "shut up and cook me a hamburger." You'd probably call that a low-blow (I'd call it hilarious!).

In the end, it's all good for business I suppose. Who would have thought 33 years ago when we launched the radio station that it would turn into not just a legendary station, but an internet publishing monster? In fact, keep in mind that FMX is a legendary rock station. We continue to enjoy great success as a radio station. Putting that rock out there so you don't have to hunt it down or pay for it is our heart and soul.

Still, our blogs have grown so popular that more people now read our stuff than listen to the station. Once again, we haven't lost any listeners, but we've gained an enormous amount of readers.

So, enjoy our "click bait," enjoy our "rock" or have some of both. We appreciate you no matter what. --
