City of Lubbock Plans to Host Food Trucks at the Civic Center
One of the biggest problems with food trucks is figuring out where to find them. At least for two Tuesdays in Lubbock, that won't be an issue.
The City of Lubbock is teaming up with the Fire Marshal's Office and the Environmental Health Department to bring a Food Truck Alley to the Lubbock Civic Center's parking lot.
The first event will be Tuesday, July 19th (weather permitting) with the second on August 16th (it looks to be a "third Tuesday" kind of thing). The event really hones in on lunch with the hours scheduled to be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Now if you have a food truck and you're wondering how to get involved, we have some good news for you. It's FREE for food trucks to participate as long as they are fully permitted. Space is also available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a few more things that you might need to know right here.
As for you regular Joes, keep in mind that you have some tough decisions to make. You'll no doubt have dozens of choices of what to eat and whether you're going to have dessert, too.
This is an incredible event for the City of Lubbock. If you remember, food trucks weren't even really allowed until 2015. That's just 7 years ago for those doing the math. The Civic Center parking lot should provide ample room for both a bunch of food trucks and the people who want to visit them.
Of course, we don't know who is planning on participating at this time, but if we find out, we'll be sure to let you know.
