We've got a new track from the Darren Welch Group that brings back echoes of his work with the band Impeccable.

Darren Welch always reminded me of Alex Lifeson of Rush. I don't know how to present it in technical terms, but it's a style that seems devoid of any blues influence. I guess it has something to do with scales or something over my head, but I always thought of it as a progressive guitar sound used these days by bands like Dream Theater. Don't get me wrong, Darren can rock the blues like nobody else, but he was one of the few to adopt this style back when everyone else was trying to impersonate Stevie Ray.

I guess I could continue to analyze it, but it would be better for you to just check out this amazing guitar work, or even better, see it live.
