Expect Brighter, Shinier Roads Around The Lubbock Area

TxDot crews will begin a new project today.

You know those little bumpy reflective things in the roads? TxDot will be laying down a bunch of them in a half-million dollar effort across the 17 counties in the "Lubbock District". The bumpy-bits are expected to be put down on Interstates, highways and "advisory curves" around Lubbock County.

For the record, the official name of those devices are RRPM's, or "raised, reflective, pavement markers".

No real traffic problems or shutdowns should be a part of the installation, other than some slower traffic. You should always slow down and use caution when you're around work crews.
