Lubbock Radio Legend Kelli D’Angelo Passes Away
It's with great sadness that we report the loss of one of our own.
There was a time when a radio station named "FM99" ruled the Hub City. The adult contemporary station was just in the perfect time and place, and seemed to play each and every card right to be the biggest station Lubbock had ever heard. Part of that success was morning show co-host Kelli D'Angelo.
Kelli had one of the most recognizable and friendliest voices that Lubbock has ever heard. Even now, you'll be hearing her live on through commercials and announcements. I did not personally know Kelli, but I respected her commitment to do what I do every day.
I have no rights to any photos, nor do I want to invade her privacy in any way, but there are many listeners who grew up with FM99 who should tip their hat at the smile she brought to the air each and every day.
FM99 is now our own Lonestar 99.5 FM, and we are PROUD to say that Kelli was once a fixture on our airwaves. We will keep Kelli’s friends, family and radio listeners in our thoughts.
