Mayor’s Marathon to Tie Up The Loop This Sunday
If you want to run, more power to you. If you want to get somewhere, then I guess you'll have to find an alternate route.
Plans are for traffic to start being diverted at 5 a.m. However, last year it seemed like crews were out earlier than that. At this time, the outer loop will become unavailable. As runners make their way through the course, sections may begin to be opened. All runners are scheduled to be off the Loop by 1:30 p.m.
It's odd to me that our local churches have not raised holy hell over parishioners being inconvenienced by this vanity event. I hope everybody has a safe, fun day. I'll be doing like most people and sheltering in place until the roads are back open.
I guess it's too late to bring sanity back to this idea, but wouldn't it have been more fun, and less inconvenient, to run from Texas Tech to the lake and back?
