Satan Visited Lubbock And Nothing Happened

As alarmist and extreme as Lubbock can be sometimes, I'm amazed that the devil coming to the Hub City wasn't a bigger cause for alarm. Let's not forget, this is the town that had the WIndy Man smashed with a sledgehammer.

The Temple Of Satan film "Hail Satan" screened Wednesday night at the Alamo Drafthouse with little fanfare. Local atheist groups and some curious folks took in the movie and that was kind of it.  Well, to be honest, I haven't checked the bathrooms at the Alamo to see if any turned into a portal to hell, so I can say for sure.

The film deals the Temple Of Satan for what it is, a political movement meant to keep the separation of church and state alive. The group as won a number of court cases and has just jumped into the abortion battle as well.

I understand how some religious folks could think that these folks are playing around with forces that they may regret, but that's their decision, just as someone may choose to be Baptist or Catholic or Muslim.  America is a free country and like it or not, the Temple Of Satan is helping it stay that way.
