This could develop into quite a thing.

What It Is

A new event is set to celebrate all things horror-related on September 10th, 2022. It's called The Texas Terror Mini-Con. The event will take place at the very cool CASP Gallery at 1106 5th Street from 5 to 11 p.m. The event is free, so why not give it a whirl?

What It's Like

Events like this are happening all over. I was supposed to go to a much larger one by the name of Midsummer Scream in Long Beach, California, but COVID-19 caught up with me. That particular event featured tons of vendors, mini-haunted houses and speakers like Kirk Hammett of Metallica moderating a horror panel.

What Will Happen

This local event isn't promising any celebs, but will feature artists, vendors, a costume contest and more. What can I say, it should just be fun hanging out with spooky people. Think of it as a spooky shopping trip with some art and horror cosplay thrown in.

What It Could Be

Hopefully, this event will have the turnout to warrant even larger cons. I'd like to see foam pumpkin carving contests, best scream contests, horror makeup, private horror collection items, and maybe even something like a horror DVD trading post or something. Events like this have so much room to grow and they don't necessarily have to model themselves after anything else anyone is doing anywhere.
