I find this topic so frustrating that I revisit it from time to time.

Delta 8 & 9

I just read that Texas lawmakers are considering banning Delta 8 & 9 and it just shows, all over again, that they don't care about the average persons wishes. They care only to serve special interest groups and not the public at large. These products exist and are popular because Texas has not legalized marijuana.

3 Out Of 4

I had to make the number above a headline because it's overwhelming. In 2022, 3 out of 4 Texans supported either legalization or decriminalization of marijuana (I think it's a safe bet that the number has grown larger instead of smaller as well).  We are surrounded by states that have made moves small and large in that direction. There are states all over that have made the move and it has had little to no impact on their communities.

Taking Crazy Pills

I do feel like Texans are taking crazy pills before voting. We continue to elect people who are not "representatives" of our wishes, but people who think they know what's good for us. The lawmakers in the story are pretending to be concerned about the makeup of Delta 8 & 9 and their effects, when the whole thing could be solved just by bowing to the will of the people and allowing marijuana in it's natural form.

It's Time For Change

Texans want legalization by an overwhelming majority and we need to throw the bums out that are keeping this from happening. Seriously, our farmers will benefit, our economy will benefit, and the only thing that will change is we will quit arresting people for possessing a plant. Everyone reading this right now knows that marijuana will be legalized eventually so why are we dragging our feet and punishing people for no good reason? More importantly, why are we considering more laws instead of fewer?
