This Is My 7000th Blog
I do very much appreciate you reading these, especially since this one is a blog about blogs.
It's crazy how many blogs I've written. In fact, this is my 7000th official blog. I've actually written a number of them on my own Facebook, as a guest writer for other websites, and I've ghostwritten a bunch, too.
So straight up, what do I want you to learn about this? Well, probably that I didn't mean to offend you if I did.
Part of blogging is passion, but part of it is also duty; it's part of my job to write blogs. Just for a drill, try to come up with 10 topics to write about every week. Then again for next week. Especially in a relatively quiet place like Lubbock, sometimes you gotta scrape to come up with something.
I've even honed down the topics I'm willing to cover. I don't really mess with politics. I have a couple of issues I tend to stick with and just consider the other ones someone else's battle. I do try to keep it local when possible, but it will come as no surprise to you that sometimes NOTHING is happening in Lubbock.
If you're looking for advice on blogging, take the advice I took from the legendary drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs in that if you want to be a writer, just write. Write every single day, and every single thought. Before you know it, you'll be at 7000 stories.
