What We Need In A President

I find most of the claims, accusations and out and out lies about our current President to be shameful, embarrassing and un-American.  This guy has the hardest job in the world and we have people who barely made it out of high school calling him "stupid" and worse.

Even saying all of that, I do believe there is an area where this President falls short. I find the President's shortcoming is absolutely what we must look for in the next President and that is the ability to inspire.

There are many people who are still infatuated with President Reagan. Looking back at his policies and legacy, he really wasn't that great. What made him great is that most Americans "bought in" to his optimism about America.  He may have led us astray on occasion, but he led and most followed.

I see these qualities in two candidates right now, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. I personally believe that Trump inspires in the wrong ways, but he does inspire. Sanders is incredibly inspirational too, but some find him too "radical".

I just don't think good policies are enough anymore. We need someone who is constantly giving America pep talks to pull it together. Yep, most will only listen to the soundbites, but those soundbites and memes could unite us.  It needs to be constant and it needs to be unrelenting, almost to the level of propaganda.  We are no longer the greatest country in the world, but we have the resources to get back there. We just need someone with vision, a plan and the ability to inspire the American people.
