What Were Those Explosions in Lubbock Last Night?
It may be hard for some people to understand, but there's a whole bunch of us out there that are getting pretty tired of you daywalkers.
Having a headache and needing to get up at 3 a.m., I tried to crash a bit early on Wednesday night. I was awoken at 8:45 p.m. by the sound of explosions. My dogs were freaking the hell out and going crazy, too.
I thought that Lubbock was being attacked or that a downtown building was exploding. Nope, it was just a tent revival in the park with Franklin Graham.
It's funny how people have no problem being inconsiderate a-holes when they aren't the ones being inconvenienced. You see, everybody loves fireworks until they're shot off at a time that's inconvenient for them.
Last night, thousands of Lubbockites were startled and tons of pets were scared out of their wits by a fireworks display in mid-October. It just doesn't seem like it should be a "thing" to me.
Anyways, I hope those of you who participated had a good time. I hope you'll spend some time reuniting lost pets with their owners. I'm sure there was tithing to put this kind of thing on, and the irony of it happening pretty much next to the homeless tent city isn't lost on me either.
