It can be hard to prove how something like a mask works, especially to those who don't want to hear it.

People seem to not understand that people wear a mask for each other. My mask protects you, and your mask protects me. I don't know if we'll ever convince the non-empathetic to mask up. They will just have to grumble under their mask if they want to go to their favorite places of business.

There was an event recently in which the power of the mask was exhibited.

Two hairstylists who did not know they had the coronavirus served 140 clients over eight days. Fortunately, their employer, Great Clips (they deserve to be mentioned) required they wear masks. None of those clients contracted COVID-19. This may be the best evidence yet of the true power of watching out for other people with a simple mask.

From CNN:

Of the 140 clients and seven co-workers potentially exposed, 46 took tests that came back negative. All the others were quarantined for the duration of the coronavirus incubation period. The 14-day incubation period has now passed with no coronavirus cases linked to the salon beyond the two stylists, county health officials said.

Some of you don't want to hear this. You'll struggle to find fault with this story or the source, and my question to you is, why?

Why are you working so hard to disprove masks when doctors and others wear them day in and day out? What in your educational background makes you think that you're going to disprove a scientific or medical study? Why are you fighting this?

It seems to me that the best course of action for you would be to just mask up and call us all idiots for pressuring you into doing it. I am totally and completely good with you hating the idea of wearing a mask as long as you're wearing a mask. Otherwise, you are about to get very lonely and have a very hard time getting the things you need from stores.
